River Keepers Interpretive Snowshoe Hike along the river –Explore the banks of the Red River in downtown Moorhead on snowshoes. Bring snowshoes if you have them, otherwise, Moorhead Parks and Recreation will provide them for free! Cold weather clothing is a must. There is no cost to participate, but a donation of warm weather clothing is encouraged.

Snow Sculpture Competition – “The Snow Must Go On” Snow Sculpture Competition will take place at Viking Ship Park during the Frozen Fortress. Amateurs and professionals will be creating snow sculptures for the Frozen Fortress. Judging will happen all week and the winner will be announced on February 6! 

Registration: $50, Register here to build a snow sculpture. Viewing and voting are free!

Snowga – Discover peace and tranquility by combining fresh powder and yoga! Join local yoga instructor Ginny Carlson as she leads snowga, a fun accessible practice for all ages and levels of yoga students. Please wear proper snow attire, no bare feet in this yoga class!

Dance Attack – Join Dance Choreographers, Naomi Speidel and Cleveland Smith for this 45-minute power-packed fitness dance party! Disc Golf Tournament – Frostival “Ice Bowl” Disc Golf Tournament: No wimps, no whiners. This disc golf tournament takes place in the dead of winter to bring awareness to hunger in America. Ice Bowl Tournaments are held across the country to help raise funds for local food shelves and food-related charities. A portion of your registration fee will be donated and we encourage you to bring non-perishable food items to the event to donate.

Candlelight Trail Walk – Take a scenic stroll around the Hjemkomst Center and Viking Ship Park as the trail gets lit with hundreds of luminaries and ends with a trip through the Community Light Tunnel! Stick around for a bonfire, food, and games. Don’t forget to check out the MBA Snow Sculpture Competition and vote for your favorite creation!

Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe rentals will be available, with Nature of the North on-site to assist with the demonstration and proper use of equipment!

Viking Ship Park

February 5 at 4 p.m. – February 7 at 12 p.m.

Freezing for a GOOD Reason – Thank you to the FM Legion Riders for putting this event on. The 44 hours signifies the 22 vets per day that die from suicide. Sleeping outside represents the numbing truth of homelessness within the community.

This honorable event will take place, Friday at 4 PM until Sunday at Noon.
All donations go to Churches United and The Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation.
We will be staying in a tent. We will have two motorcycles and an antique pickup parked outside. One of the goals is to fill the pickup with items needed for the homeless community.

We’ll have a variety of outdoor enthusiasts joining us to provide clinics for snowshoeing, xc skiing, and ski shoeing (if you haven’t heard of it before, you HAVE to try it!) throughout the day.

Head on over to MB Johnson park for an evening of snowshoeing, ski-shoeing, xc skiing, warm fires, good friends, and a heck of a lot of fun! 

Our team will help folks set up their tents and get settled in. Then, we’ll lead a variety of mini-adventures including a night hike through the trails!

FMCT’s Frostival Musical Revue – Join FMCT in a return to the past for their Frostival Musical Revue! Enjoy 30-Minutes of singing and dancing from familiar storybook characters with plenty of opportunities for photos with your favorites directly following each show. Warm-up with something toasty from our concessions.

A Frostival Celebration of Winter Food Tales – Whether you’ve got a long history of homemade lefse-making with your family, truly despise lutefisk, or have never heard of kuchen, you’re invited to a virtual celebration of food, drink, and storytelling tradition! Make a plan to cozy up at home and tune in for an interactive evening featuring stories about the one thing that brings us all together: FOOD! 

The audience’s three favorite stories will receive gift cards to enjoy local eateries or breweries. Submit your story here

Coffee & Cocoa Crawl – Join the Downtown Community Partnership for the 6th annual Coffee and Cocoa Crawl! Bundle up the kids and grab your friends for a day of sipping and shopping! Admission includes a mug and samples of coffee and cocoa at different locations in Downtown Fargo. With COVID-19 in mind, there will be three ticket options:
Round 1: $25 10 am – 12 pm
Round 2: $20 11 am – 1 pm
Round 3: $15 12 pm – 2 pm (all samples are not guaranteed)

Fargo Film, Food, Fashion, & Fun Celebration – Wear your Fargo-ist of Fargo wear (ear-flap hats, moon boots, flannel shirts, etc.) and come on down to Broadway Square to enjoy a screening of the movie Fargo (R, 1996) on the MegaScreen, introduced with clips from your favorite Fargo (movie and tv series) celebrities, and accompanied by classic Fargo flavors provided by local vendors. A scavenger hunt of themed photo opportunities will be scattered around Broadway, the Fargo Theatre will be selling popcorn, the ND Film Society will host Fargo trivia, and Nature of the North will offer Fargo Survival workshop sessions.
